Gazania is a small herbaceous plant with very decorative flowers. It is perennial, but is grown as an annual. Gazania is native to southern Africa. It is quite widespread in Italy and is prized for the beauty and color of its flowers; it can be grown both outdoors and in pots and is used to create borders, colorful carpets and even as a cut flower. Gazanias have fleshy stems, ranging in height from 15 to 30 cm, and variously colored flowers. Gazania Marittima is distinguished by its groundcover habit, light yellow flowers and silvery leaf surface.

TEMPERATURE |
The ideal temperature for good growth of this plant is 16 to 22 degrees. It tolerates heat quite well, even withstanding periods of drought, but it does not tolerate cold and frost. |
SOIL |
Gazanias adapt well to any type of soil; however, for optimal growth, it is recommended to use a soft and, above all, well-drained soil consisting of a mixture of soil, peat and sand. You can also add pebbles to improve water drainage. |
CONCESSION |
Fertilize every 15 days in spring. |
EXPOSURE |
Gazanies need a lot of sun, so it is advisable to place them in a bright place, possibly in direct light. |
IRRIGATION |
Gazanias should be watered regularly during the warm months, although they can withstand short dry spells: watering with water at room temperature and waiting for the soil to dry between waterings is recommended. In winter, watering should be decreased. |
